U.S. bariatric population is on the increase

Of the millions of adults in the U.S. who are classified as overweight, over half are considered obese. And those considered extremely obese or bariatric are in the millions. These bariatric populations typically require increased health care, including gastric bypass, stomach reduction, and banding operations. And the hospitals that serve them require chairs, beds, and toilet fixtures designed to handle up to 1000 pounds.

Watts Bariatric Carriers address these special needs situations

To meet the special needs of bariatric care, we have developed closet carriers specifically intended for these increased load requirements. Our bariatric closet carrier is equipped with an epoxy coated cast iron fitting, no hub waste and no hub vent connections, an epoxy coated ductile iron patented compression seal faceplate assembly and ductile iron rear anchor support. This bariatric carrier complies with the requirements of ASME A112.6.1M for up to a 1000 pound static load and provides assured performance in a bariatric care setting.

New carriers are part of an industry standard series

Our newest closet carriers are part of an industry standard series that all feature an exclusive patent pending compression seal, virtually eliminating costly behind the wall carrier leaks. With moisture unable to penetrate the seal, mold formation is no longer a problem. As no additional sealants or lubricants are required, installation is greatly simplified and the fact that the seal holds air or water from first test provides owner peace of mind.
