Thermostatic Mixing Valves

Watts is pleased to announce their new 1170-M2 and MMV-M1 Series Thermostatic Mixing Valves. Through the proper selection, combination and use of these new mixing valves, it is possible to safely generate, store and recirculate hot water at temperatures hot enough to control and kill Legionella bacteria and also provide protection to the end user from scalding and thermal shock injuries. Series 1170-M2 is listed to ASSE Standard 1017 for hot water source applications. Series MMV-M1 is triple listed to ASSE Standard 1016 for single fixture applications, ASSE 1070 for single or multiple fixture applications and ASSE 1017 for hot water source applications. Both series are also certified to CSA requirements.

The new 1170-M2 and MMV-M1 Series feature “Best in Class” flow rates from as low as 0.5gpm to as high as 23gpm for the 1170-M2 Series and up to 12gpm for the MMV-M1 Series. At the heart of the new mixing valves is an advanced, wax-based thermal motor technology, which provides the 1170-M2 and MMV-M1 series with precise temperature control across its entire rated flow rate for both source of supply as well as point of use applications. Available in sizes 1/2”, 3/4” and 1”, both series feature unions as standard and are available in threaded, sweat, PEX or CPVC end connections. Standard features on both series include installed integral check valves, screen filters, and a lockable temperature adjustment to prevent unauthorized tampering.
