This Colt(TM) 2 1/2 inch lead free reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure. It is ideal for protection at cross-connections identified as health hazards such as on fire sprinkler systems and from contaminants found at the service line entrance. This compact modular design is approved for horizontal Z pattern installation. It consists of a stainless steel body with quick access sleeve, torsion spring check valves, grooved gear operated butterfly valves with tamper switch, test cocks and a corrosive resistant bottom mounted pressure relief valve. It comes furnished with a gallon per minute meter to detect underground leaks and unauthorized water use. This backflow assembly contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert(R) technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated through an add-on sensor connection kit, the flood sensor can send an alert to notify personnel about potential flooding. Add-on sensor connection kits are available for BMS and cellular communications.
