This 2 1/2 inch reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure. It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards and from other contaminants found at the service line entrance. This compact modular design consists of a short lay length lightweight stainless steel body, outside stem and yoke resilient seated gate valves, test cocks, thermoplastic cam-check valves, and a corrosive resistant stainless steel bottom mounted relief valve. It comes furnished with a cubic feet per minute meter to detect underground leaks and unauthorized water use. This backflow assembly contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert(R) technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events. Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa(R) platform through Wi-Fi.
