This 8 inch lead free MasterSeries(R) reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. It is ideal for providing protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards. It offer protection from other contaminants found at the service line entrance as well. It is used primarily on fire sprinkler and standpipe systems requiring detection of unauthorized water use. This assembly has outside stem and yoke shutoff valves consisting of a ductile iron body, replaceable stainless steel check seats, cubic feet per minute metered bypass, and ball valve test cocks. Improved with a stainless-steel relief valve seat, these rugged assemblies yield greater dependability and extended valve life. The coating on this backflow assembly uses ArmorTek(R), a patented 3-part advanced epoxy coating system designed to limit both microbial induced (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
